WAPDA Town

WAPDA Town
—  Residential Area  —

WAPDA Town is one of the residential areas of Lahore in Pakistan. It was developed for employees of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) but anyone can buy land or a house now.

WAPDA Town is located in the southern part of Lahore; neighbouring societies and towns include Valencia Town, PCSIR Society Phase II, Johar Town, Punjab Government Employees Society, and Iqbal Avenue Co-operative Housing Society. With adequate housing, educational, security, and entertainment facilities, it is becoming one of the major housing schemes in the city. Many educational institutions of the city provide dedicated transport services to the town's residents.

There is a lot of security and facilities for the residents. Markets, parks and masjids are in almost every block of WAPDA Town. Recently a big commercial market has been developed in E2 block. There is a degree college for women in E1 on the main road. There are also two banks, one is in society office, named HBL, other is opposite to E2 market named NIB. Plots and houses prices are increasing rapidly there.

The population of this newly established suburban area is expanding as the property rates offered there are more or less the same as other very expensive suburbs of Lahore city like Defence Housing Authority, Lahore. There are two phases of Wapda Town at present.
